Halogen Free Materials: These are specialty materials that are free of the brominated Halogens used as flame retardants. Currently, the RoHS initiative does not ban the tetrabromides used in printed circuit board laminates and pre-preg. Some 'green' applications may require these materials but their use is discouraged due to increased price and decreased availability.
